Heat pump installation

All-Electric Comfort, Sized and Installed Right

A heat pump replaces your furnace and AC with one efficient system, and in the South Bay’s mild climate it’s the setup the rebates, the building codes, and the utility rates all favor. Our own job log shows the shift: heat pump work is already our third-biggest category and climbing. The catch is sizing. Most of our installs land at 3 or 4 tons, but “most” isn’t “yours”. We run the load calculation and size to the actual house, because an oversized heat pump short cycles and an undersized one never rests.

Silicon Valley Clean Energy pays up to $2,000 toward a heat pump replacing a gas furnace, and $3,000 for income-qualified homes in its service area. We check what your project qualifies for as part of the free estimate. Real install numbers from our records: typically $1,683 to $10,392 installed, three-year labor warranty. For ductless, Mitsubishi is our most-installed mini-split brand.

When a Heat Pump Makes Sense

Your furnace or AC is due

Replacing either one is the moment to consider replacing both with one system, since you’re paying for install labor anyway.

No ducts? Mini-splits

Ductless mini-splits heat and cool room by room. Mitsubishi is our most-installed ductless brand, ideal for additions, ADUs, and older homes without ductwork.

You want off gas

Bay Area air-district rules are tightening on gas appliances. A heat pump gets ahead of that curve with SVCE rebate money helping.

Solar on the roof

Heat pumps pair with solar: your panels end up running your heating.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a heat pump cost installed?

From our own installs: typically $1,683 to $10,392 installed, before rebates. The free estimate pins down your number and your rebate eligibility.

What rebates are available?

Silicon Valley Clean Energy pays up to $2,000 toward a heat pump replacing a gas furnace, and $3,000 for income-qualified homes in its service area. Other incentives come and go, so we check what applies during the estimate.

Do heat pumps work in South Bay winters?

Yes. Modern heat pumps heat efficiently well below any temperature Morgan Hill sees. Our mild climate is close to ideal for them.

Ducted heat pump or mini-splits?

Ducted works with existing ductwork in good shape. Mini-splits win for homes without ducts or for room-by-room control, and Mitsubishi is our most-installed ductless brand. We quote whichever fits, sometimes both.

What size heat pump do I need?

Most of our installs land at 3 or 4 tons, but the right answer comes from a load calculation on your house: square footage, ducts, insulation, and sun exposure. A rule of thumb won’t cut it.
